Supporting our mainstream partners to be better aware and equipped for disability inclusive programming is a key element of the IAG approach.  This video highlights the comprehensive approach CBM Global and our local partner, the Centre for Disability in Development (CDD), took to support capacity building of IOM’s Site Planning and Protection Staff working in the Rohingya Refugee Camps in Bangladesh.

With an emphasis on “stepping outside the classroom environment”, we developed a five-day training programme which was flexible and tailored to the needs of the IOM team.  In depth consultation with the IOM senior management team in design and action planning, tailoring the training to the IOM team, providing on the job coaching and mentoring support directly in the camps which the IOM team were pivotal to the success of the training.

This video documents the process taken in developing the training curriculum, demonstrates the main training components and shares reflections of those involved including people with disabilities.
