International Women’s Development Agency (IWDA)

Project | March 19, 2025

The Australia team of CBM Global’s Inclusion Advisory Group (IAG) partners with the International Women’s Development Agency (IWDA) to advance disability-inclusive gender programming. Over the past year, we have collaborated with colleagues from the disability movement in the Pacific and South East Asia to deliver tailored support. This has included delivery of online and in-person workshops for the IWDA partnership team and implementing partners in Myanmar.

Through this work we have equipped the IWDA team and their implementing partners with:

  • A deeper understanding of disability-inclusive development and its critical role in gender programs.
  • Practical skills and confidence to apply a disability lens and adapt intersectional gender programming to promote equality for all.

We also developed a comprehensive guidance note to help integrate an intersectional disability lens within gender programs. This resource was tested and refined throughout our engagement to ensure alignment with the practical needs of local partners.
