Institutional Funding Manager

Reports To

The Institutional Funding Manager will report to the Country Director.

Job Overview and Core Purpose

Under the guidance of the Country Director and the supportive supervision from the Global Institutional Funding Manager, the Nepal Institutional Funding Manager will lead and coordinate institutional fundraising activities for the Nepal Country Office.

The incumbent will lead on business development and implementation of the funding strategy for the Nepal Country Office in line with the CBM Global Federation Strategy. S/he will cultivate and strengthen relationships with institutional donors, foundations, corporations, I/NGO partners, and other stakeholders, explore and identify relevant funding opportunities and contribute to the diversification of the Country Programme Portfolio. S/he will lead on concept note/proposal development and support with related project development in close collaboration with the Nepal ountry Team, CBM Global Secretariat, Technical Teams and Member Teams.        

Based: This role will be based in the CBM Global Nepal Country Office. ​

Hours:  Full-time​

Contract: One-year fixed term contract with possibility of extension.

Responsibilities and Duties

Fundraising in Nepal

  1. Lead on implementation of the funding strategy for the CBM Global Nepal Country Office
  2. Research and identify funding opportunities that can advance the work of the Nepal Country Strategy, targeting a wide variety of donor groups including institutional donors, corporations, foundations, etc.
  3. Coordinate Go/No-Go decisions for funding applications by or involving the Nepal Country Office, ensuring decisions are made in a timely manner
  4. Lead the proposal development process for Nepal Country Office in close coordination with the Programme and Finance teams, technical teams and member teams
  5. Develop materials and resources to promote the work of CBM Global Nepal to potential donors and INGO partners
  6. Ensure rigorous quality assurance, adherence to donor compliance requirements and timely and accurate donor reporting​

Coordination and Representation in Nepal

  1. Maintain good working relationship with existing donors and cultivate relations with potential new donors and consortium leads
  2. Represent and participate in various strategic meetings and consultations related to fundraising within CBM Global, donors, partners, and other stakeholders.
  3. Actively engage in various national and international communities of practice to gather new ideas and enhance fundraising capacity.
  4. Actively coordinate with other agencies for joint proposals/bids
  5. Ensure effective collaboration with the Country Team, Secretariat, Technical Teams and Member Associates while developing project ideas, concept notes, and proposals.
  6. Identify institutional funding capacity gaps in the country office and build capacity of the country team in the required areas.
  7. Coordinate periodic learning sessions to reflect upon good practices and challenges of the fundraising activities of the Nepal Country Office.

Support Global Fundraising efforts

  1. Support implementation of the funding strategy for the CBM Global federation
  2. Alongside the Global Institutional Funding Manager, review existing fundraising policies and procedures in place, update or modify where needed, and develop new processes that contribute to successful fundraising, both for Nepal and for the CBM Global Federation as a whole.
  3. Provide ‘surge capacity’ support for proposal development to other country teams as required.

  1. In case of Emergency in the country and requirement of the organization you should be flexible to deploy in the emergency response management initiatives as per the requirement of the organization.

Safeguarding

Accountable for ensuring that all children and adults who come into contact with CBM’s programmes, are safeguarded to the greatest extent possible.
​Responsible for ensuring compliance to all aspects of the CBMG Safeguarding and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, abuse and harassment policies and associated standards and procedures.

​Person Specification

​All of the following requirements are Essential, unless marked with a * when they are Desirable.

​Experience and knowledge

  1. Minimum 7 years’ experience in business development/resource mobilization/institutional funded-program development in the development sector
  2. A track record of success in building relationships and networks with donor organisations and writing and submitting winning funding applications.
  3. Excellent knowledge of the donor environment and of current donor / funding trends in Nepal and globally
  4. Experience in the disability sector*
  5. Lived experience of disability*

  1. Master’s Degree in a relevant field of study, or equivalent work experience
