Fundraising Resource Coordinator and Gatherer
Fixed term contract until 31st December 2025 / 50-100% FTE part-time to full-time

Michael Schlickenrieder, Co-Head of Communications and Fundraising at CBM Switzerland.
 
Job Overview

The position holder has three areas of responsibility: Managing CBM Global’s media database Asset Bank, coordinating CBM Global resource collections and running resource collections him/herself.

The primary aim of the position is to generate high-quality stories, pictures and videos from CBM Global’s projects. This material will be used in the fundraising measures of the individual Member Teams to secure funding. The person will work closely with the Supporter Engagement Group (SEG; consisting of the communication and fundraising directors/managers from the Member Teams and CBM Global) or with individual members of the SEG.

Based:  We welcome applications from those who live and have the right to work in Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Kenya, Madagascar, Zimbabwe, Nepal, Bangladesh, Lao PDR, Indonesia, and Philippines.

Hours:  50-100% FTE (part-time to full-time)

Salary range: The salary offered will be competitive, dependent on skills and experience, as well as country of location. We offer a local contract.

Responsibilities and Duties  
 
1.   Manage Asset Bank

  1. Monitor CBM Global Asset Bank process, ensuring quality control across consent forms, naming conventions, tags and meta data.
  2. Upload resources on Asset Bank as required.
  3. Responsible for adding and deleting new users.
  4. Handle expiry of old assets that are no longer used and find alternatives for storage in collaboration with IT department.

2.   Coordinate CBM Global resource collections

  1. Ensure the SEG Fundraising priorities are assessed and agreed regularly.
  2. Keep the resource collection planning overview of the SEG up to date.
  3. Further development of guidelines for resource gathering.
  4. Develop and maintain a list of preferred suppliers at Country Team level for SEG and the Federation.
  5. Ensure terms of reference are approved by key SEG members to ensure relevance and strength of resource collection.
  6. Contract and brief strong resource contractors who will deliver timely resources that fit the brief.
  7. Liaise with Country Teams and via Country Teams with partners to enable contractors to have access to participants.
  8. Coordinate logistics for resource collections with Country Teams, including interviews with participants, flights and accommodation.
  9. Coordinate humanitarian crisis resources collection for fundraising, assisting in capacity building and guides to enable strong and fast turnaround campaigns.

3.   Resource collection (successful candidate needs to do it by themselves)

  1. Collect multimedia resources – pictures, stories and videos – as required.
  2. Ensure terms of reference are approved by key SEG members to ensure relevance and strength of resource collection.
  3. Liaise with Country Teams and via Country Teams with partners to enable access to participants.
  4. Coordinate logistics for resource collections with Country Teams, including interviews with participants, flights, and accommodation.

Key outcomes expected from this role

  1. Generate high-quality fundraising material that Member Teams can use in their fundraising to secure funding for programme work.
  2. Ensuring a media database that is up to date and contains material that is quick and easy to find.
  3. Standardising processes for clarifying needs and prioritising the required fundraising material.

Person Specification
 
All of the following requirements are essential, unless marked with a * when they are desirable.

Experience

  1. Several years of experience as a photographer and in writing success stories
  2. Experience in producing and editing videos
  3. Experience in collecting photos, videos and stories that can be used for fundraising
  4. Experience of working with international NGOs and previous visits to humanitarian projects
  5. Experience in assessing clients’ needs for photos, videos and stories and, based on this, coordinating and managing other photographers and/or videographers

Skills/competencies/personal qualities

  1. Strong skills in photography and videography
  2. Editing, writing in English
  3. Coordinating and managing creative teams
  4. Understanding asset management systems
  5. Strong collaboration skills
  6. Knowledge of accessibility and good knowledge-management skills

Qualifications

  • Background qualification in photography and videography as well as in writing stories
