CBM Australia recently conducted a meta-evaluation which looked at 33 evaluations from our international projects over four years.

This document details what we learnt around good practice when working with people with disabilities in community based inclusive development (CBID) programs.

Key insights include:

  • Stigma reduction must go together with improving access to services and devices.
  • Helping people with disabilities access schemes and pensions can be life changing.
  • Well-trained local community organisers play a key role in a project’s success.
  • Projects that worked with and had clear expectations of what they wanted governments to do were more successful.
