CBM Global & World Blind Union renew partnership to boost accessibility & inclusion

News | August 19, 2024

We are excited to announce the renewal of our Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the World Blind Union (WBU)! This partnership will continue to empower and advocate for the rights of people with disabilities worldwide.

This marks a continued dedication to promoting inclusive environments and ensuring that accessibility is a fundamental aspect of global development and humanitarian efforts. This collaboration will focus on critical areas like advocacy, capacity building, and promoting accessibility in development and humanitarian action.

“I am delighted that we have renewed our memorandum of understanding with the World Blind Union, building on a long history of collaboration. It has been so encouraging to observe how Accessibility GO!, a joint resource developed by the World Blind Union and CBM Global, is increasingly used by organizations who want to deliver a whole-of-organization approach towards accessibility. Without accessibility, the rights of persons with disabilities cannot be recognized. I look forward to deepening our partnership with Marc and the WBU team.” – David Bainbridge, Executive Director of CBM Global

The renewed MoU underscores our shared vision of creating a world where people with disabilities have equal opportunities and can fully participate in society. Through this ongoing partnership, CBM Global and WBU will continue working on initiatives that improve accessibility and inclusivity, empowering individuals and fostering a more equitable world.

“On behalf of WBU, I am extremely excited to extend our MoU with CBM Global, one of WBU’s closest allies in our struggle for full equity and inclusion. This extension of our longstanding and strong partnership is a crucial step in the right direction towards our organizations’ shared goal of achieving an accessible future for everyone across the globe.” – Marc Workman, CEO of WBU
