As part of the CBM Global Sustainability Enquiry series, this document examines the lasting impact of the Time to Change Global (TTCG) Pilot Programme (2018-2020), an initiative aimed at reducing stigma and discrimination against people with mental health conditions across five countries: Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, and India. Focusing primarily on post project developments in Kenya and Nigeria, the review explores the sustainability of TTCG’s outcomes through the perspective of Mental Health Champions, implementing organisations, and the general public.

The findings reveal that although maintaining large-scale public engagement activities and impact tracking has been challenging due to limited funding, several key elements of the programme have endured. These include the continued activity of peer support networks, the sustained use of storytelling by Mental Health Champions, and the integration of TTCG methos by partner organisations. The report identifies critical enablers of sustainability, including comprehensive training, peer mentorship, and strategic use of social media for ongoing advocacy, while also highlighting barriers, such as resource constraints and limited support post project.
